Word Filled Wednesday Matthew 2:2

The purpose of Word Filled Wednesday is to share the WORD through a photo and a verse.

Matthew 2:2 Where is the one who has been born king of the jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.

As my son (the wise guy in the red) played his part in the kids' Christmas special at church, I realized just how amazing it must have been for a bunch of Magi (not really sure how many) to spend such a LONG time on the road in search of the Christ child. Could you just imagine the anticipation, the expectation and... how NERVOUS they must have been?

"We are going to see the KING!" I would have just fainted. Instead, they bowed at the feet of the young Jesus, and brought precious gifts for him (do you think he got to play with them?), and they just worshipped! WOW. The chance to worship before the Lord of all. The really cool thing, is we have the chance to do this every single DAY! We bring our gifts to Him, we bow at his feet, and we worship. This year, our Christmas celebration will include much worshipping, and bringing gifts to Jesus in the form of helping out others. I pray that your celebrations include the real reason behind gift giving, and that you are blessed by the gifts of others, and most importantly, the gift of Jesus himself.

Have a very blessed Christmas!

Beautiful!

I sometimes dream about what it would have been like to be there..to see Him born...to watch Him speak...to listen to His voice...to touch the hem of His coat...to smell Him...to eat with Him...to wash His feet with my hair...oh I dream to do this all in heaven. I want my job to be sitting at His feet washing them.

Blessings to you and your precious sons!

I just love children's Christmas plays--such innocence in the story telling (and some humor). My favorite WFWs are of the little people in our lives. Happy WFW!

I know, just to be there, right? Wow! And your photo is beautiful. I love the torn blurred edges inside the frame. Marvelous graphic for this verse and devotion. Merry Christmas!

I love the picture for this verse. Your son is a doll. He's probably too old to appreciate hearing that, LOL! Great post, too. I stand amazed and would imagine the Magi were, too. I can just see them, after worshipping Him, interacting with Him and playing with Him. He wants not only our worship but also our participation. Thanks so much for sharing. Happy WFW!

What a handsome, young, wise guy! Thanks for a very thought-provoking post. I love the way you simplify the Word, breaking it down into something I can wrap my brain around. Good job!

Behave yourself today...lol

Beatiful post, sweetie....
One of my favorite things to ponder this time of year is when the angel appeared to the shepherds and told them a Savior had been born... can you imagine how they must have felt?
How awesome....

awwwwwwwww....I LOVE that! How handsome your young man is!

I always wondered what the gifts were FOR! Who brings that stuff to a BABY?? But my Youth minister has a theory that they were to SELL. Yes, the symbolism is there pointing to his death, but they probably SOLD them to fund their quick exit into Egypt!

Wow...you learn something new everyday! LOL
